ANSWERS TO SOME
Who is this for exactly?
Body-positive home was built for parents, grandparents, teachers, clinicians, and anyone who needed a body-positive home in their youth, but never got one. (Yes, we do a lot of reparenting our inner children here.) It really is never too early or too late to build a body-positive home...for your kids OR yourself.
Do you offer therapy?
Body-Positive Home offers educational, self-help resources, and coaching, not therapy. Referrals for mental health, medical, and nutritional services will always be available to individuals in our membership.
For New York State residents, you are welcome to consider Zoë’s group therapy practice.
What is a body-positive home and why should I build one?
A body-positive home is any place that intentionally affirms all bodies as good bodies and strategically utilizes research-informed methods to foster universal body and food liberation, and a more equitable world for all bodies to safely exist in.
How is this
different from other
“feeding kids” resources?
Body-positive home is the only destination that offers a child-parent model of support that stretches far beyond feeding guidance. Many adults come wanting to break the cycle of food and body shame for their kids; we also know that many of those adults carry emotional wounds still in need of healing. By providing parents with a robust body image education, in addition to an innovative approach to responsive feeding, body-positive home offers a true learning and healing hub for the entire family. Oh, and did we mention the the body image studio, the body image trainers, and the first ever body image “workout” program? Innovative stuff is happening here.
